One more feather in Quality World’s cap - another year of successful
publication has just ended. We now enter the dawn of 5th year.
During the year just ended, challenges and opportunities have looked straight
into our face. Our search for new frontiers in quality continues. In the
international scenario new dimensions have been added to the concept of quality.
Intense competition has thrown up new challenges necessitating newer
approaches and improved tools. Increased awareness about quality in all walks
of human endeavours has pushed the frontiers of quality further.
Our August ’08 issue, which incidentally is our 4th Annual Issue, comes to you
in the familiar format. An article on the importance of ‘Customer’ in the context
of growth for any industry, trade or business has been included in this. “Do We
Value Our Customer” critically examines our approach and suggests mid course
corrections.
Engineering an Effective Innovation Process” deals with the necessity of
innovations and constant change ensuring performance sustainability. This is
an interesting and thought provoking article. “D(R )E(A)MING FOR A QUALITY
WORLD” another topic covered in this issue deals with the points, Dr. Deming
appended to tailor them to the American Systems and Culture. This is a
conceptual road map for implementing transformation in terms of systems
change, cultural change and continual improvement.
